Xiaomi is believed to be launching at least one flagship device at its event on January 15. In the run up to the event, it is not just the rumor mills that are busy, but the company itself has also been releasing teasers. The latest teaser video seen above is a riddle of sorts, and asks its fans to guess the features Xiaomi s forthcoming flagship device will boast. The three riddles include as __ as Paper, the ___ the better, and as __ as bell. The most obvious answers are as thin/light as paper, the bigger the better, and as clear as bell. So in essence, the forthcoming flagship device is likely to be slim and light, will have a big display, and will also have loud speakers.
The jury is still out on what smartphone Xiaomi is likely to launch at the January 15 event. While the word flagship immediately brings the Mi 5 to mind, given Xiaomi s products lifecycle and strategy, there is a chance that it may not launch the Mi 5 handset at the event. Instead it is likely to launch the Redmi Note 2 (a flagship device in the Redmi Note series), at the event. Xiaomi has put up another teaser, which further adds weight to the claim that the company will launch the Redmi Note 2.
From what we have heard so far, the Redmi Note 2 is likely to feature a 5.7-inch 1080p display, 64-bit capable octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, paired with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
Also likely to be included are 16GB/32GB internal storage, 13-megapixel shooter with dual-tone dual-LED flash, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3,600mAh battery.
