Xiaomi is said to be working on an action camera that will rival GoPro’s cameras as well as the recently launched HTC RE. According to GizChina, the company has partnered a Shanghai-based company, and the camera could be called “Mi Camera.”
The report states that the Mi camera will come with a 138-degree wide angle lens, and it will be able to record 30 fps 4K video, as well as 120 fps 1080p video. It will have support for microSD cards up to 128GB in size. As for availability, the publication claims that Xiaomi is likely to launch the Mi Camera before the end of this year, and it could cost as low as CNY 999 (Rs 10,000 approximately).
HTC’s RE camera too was recently launched in India for Rs 9,990 and went on sale this week exclusively on Snapdeal. As for specifications, RE features a 16-megapixel, 1/2.3-inch with a 146 degree wide angle CMOS sensor. It can shoot slow motion videos shot at 120 frames per second and time-lapse videos as well. The camera also features 820mAh battery, which HTC claims is good enough for clicking 1,200 photos or one hour 40 minutes of continuous video recording in full HD resolution. HTC is also releasing a companion app that is compatible with Android and iOS devices that will allow users to share photos and videos directly from the RE to your device over Wi-Fi.
