Without directly referring to the Mi TV lineup, the tweet makes it evident the ‘smarter, slimmer and sleeker’ device is nothing else but a possible variant of the Mi TV 4. This followed with a tweet by Xiaomi Product Manager Sudeep Sahu who posted a tweet confirming the arrival of a new series of TV which will enable more people to switch to a smart TV experience.
Xiaomi introduced its 4.9mm sleek Mi TV 4 on February 14. It is the company’s first offering in the smart TV segment in the country and garnered positive interest owing to the impressive features and the aggressive pricing of Rs 39,999.
First launched in home country China, the Mi TV 4 is originally available in three sizes. However, in India, the Mi TV 4 debuted only in 55-inch size. If the company’s teaser tweets are anything to go by, we might soon witness the arrival of Mi TV 4A or the Mi TV 4C series. The Mi TV 4A series comes in three screen sizes of 65-inch, 55-inch, and 49-inch. The Mi TV 4C, on the other hand, is available in two options – 43-inch and 55-inch.
Given that the hints are clearly towards more affordable smart TV experience, the possibilities are for screen sizes lower than the current 55-inch Mi TV 4. The Mi TV 4A range starts at CNY 1,099 (approximately Rs 11,300) while the Mi TV 4C range starts at CNY 1,849 (approximately Rs 19,000). The highlight of the Mi TV 4A range is AI-based speech recognition, quad-core processor, Wi-Fi connectivity, USB, ethernet ports, and Android-based Patchwall interface, Gadgets 360 reports.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 4C range also boasts similar features with a quad-core Amlogic T962 64-bit processor, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, Dolby, DTS Audio, HDR 10 support, and a blue light-reducing mode. An add-on Mi Bluetooth Remote Control brings Speech Recognition, Mi Touch, and Infrared features to the range.
The Mi TV 4 also features Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. You also get the Mi Remote, which along with the IR emitter, can also control any other electronics that are connected to your TV, including set-top boxes, Blu-Ray players and the like. For sound, the TV features support for Dolby and DTS tuning and has three HDMI ports and two USB ports, with one supporting USB 3.0.
Meanwhile, the company is also preparing the third flash sale of its Mi TV 4 in India on March 6. The smart LED TV will be up for grabs again at 12 noon. In terms of specifications, the Mi TV 4 has a 55-inch 4K-resolution LED screen. It supports HDR playback and is powered by an Amlogic 64-bit quad core processor with a Mali T830 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage for apps. It runs a special version of PatchWall OS. The Mi TV 4 also features Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. The Mi Remote is equipped with IR emitter which allows you to control other electronics that are connected to your TV, including set-top boxes, Blu-Ray players and so on. Other features include Dolby support, DTS tuning, HDMI and USB ports for connectivity.
