WeLoop has introduced a new smartwatch on Xiaomi’s crowdfunded platform, MIJIA. Called the Hey S3, the smartwatch seems to have the design inspired by the Apple Watch with a similar look and feel. The device is priced at $78, which roughly translates to Rs 5,100. As of now, the smartwatch is available in China and it is highly unlikely it will be rolled out in other markets.
As said earlier, the WeLoop Hey S3 is strikingly similar to the Apple Watch. The smartwatch comes with a square a 1.28-inch touchscreen display with resolution 176×176 pixels. The display is protected with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. The WeLoop Hey S3 weighs 38 grams and comes with 46.21 x 35.66 x 11.15mm in dimensions. Along with keeping a tab on your daily activities, the watch also shows stats on your heart rate, distance traveled and quality of sleep.
The watch face can be customized with various themes and displays time, date, and temperature. The Hey S3 can will also be available for further customization with colorful silicone straps. Apart from this, the smartwatch comes with sensors such as accelerometer, electronic compass, and gyroscope as well as a built-in heart sensor. The Hey S3 counts steps, track travel distance, and heart rate, in addition to providing the physical training analysis. It comes with Bluetooth 4.2-enabled adapter that allows the new smartwatch to connect to a smartphone and passage notifications for call control, music and texts. The smartwatch is also waterproof up to 50 meters. The smartwatch is claimed to deliver up to 30 days of back up on normal use on a single charge. The Hey S3 doesn’t run Android Wear 2.0 but a propriety operating system.
Besides WeLoop, Xiaomi-backed Huami has also unveiled a new fitness band called, Amazfit Health Band, which is said to be the advanced version of the Mi Band 2. The Huami Amazfit Health is available in three colors- Sapphire Blue, Rose Gold and Deep Black, and will set you back for 699 Yuan, which is Rs 6,500 approx. The fitness tracker features a rubber band with 0.42-inch OLED display. The Amazfit Health Band sports additional features like a PPG photoelectric sensor to record movement and sleep tracking, monitoring the heart rate, and a chip to record electrocardiogram data. Apart from that, the company claims that the fitness band comes with a 95mAh battery which is said to be good enough to last for 7 days and take 2.30 hours to fully recharge at one go. The band weighs just 10 grams and comes with an IP67 dust and water resistant rating.
