Last week, Xolo announced that it would be taking on popular brands like Xiaomi, Motorola and OnePlus by launching an online-only sub-brand called Black. The first alleged press render of the forthcoming smartphone has been leaked.
As seen in the above photo received by GSMArena, the smartphone boasts dual-rear cameras, which is in line with BGR India’s earlier report. It also seems to feature an iPhone 6-like curved sides and a SIM-card tray on the left. Not much else is seen in the leaked photo.
From what we have heard though, the smartphones under the Black brand will be LTE-enabled and will be priced in the Rs 10,000-Rs 20,000 price segment. The first smartphone will be priced under Rs 15,000, and is expected to launch sometime this month. It will focus on camera performance, and will run on the company’s proprietary Hive UI on top of Android Lollipop.
Xolo is the latest smartphone vendor to launch a sub-brand that will be exclusive to the e-commerce sites. Micromax recently launched the Yu brand, while Chinese companies like Huawei and ZTE too have launched sub-brands called Honor and Nubia respectively.
