Connectivity options on the Xolo Era 2X include dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, and a micro USB port. The highlight of the smartphone is its fingerprint sensor which comes loaded with multiple functions. As claimed by the company, the fingerprint sensor which is layered in the rear panel of the smartphone can unlock it in 0.5 seconds.
Capabilities of a fingerprint sensor are usually restricted to unlocking and capturing pictures. However, the Xolo Era 2X boasts a sensor that also comes with features such as Tap to Secure and Tap to Talk. The sensor can be configured to up to five different fingers which can be attributed to carrying out specific actions such as locking the phone or securing the gallery or capturing a picture, etc. The Tap to Talk feature allows one to receive calls at the touch of the fingerprint sensor instead of swiping to receive the call.
At the given price, the Xolo Era 2X competes with budget smartphones boasting fingerprint security such as the Coolpad Note 3 Lite and Micromax Canvas Unite 4 Pro among others. The Coolpad Note 3 Lite is priced at Rs 6,999 and features a 5-inch HD display (720p). It is powered by MediaTek s MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, USB OTG and Bluetooth.
The Micromax Canvas Unite 4 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a 5.0-inch HD (720p) IPS display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded via microSD card. It comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
