As we reported earlier this week, the Xolo One has today been updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The company has rolled out an OTA update and users should be able to upgrade their phones to the latest version of Android.

As mentioned above, in addition to the OTA update, users can download the update to their computers and manually update their phones.

To update the Xolo One via your computer, head over to the Xolo website and download the update software. Unzip the file and copy it to your phone, and keep in mind that the file is not copied inside any sub-folders. Once copied, turn off USB storage, and then on your phone start the Xolo Care app. Click on Check for Software update, and the app will take care of the rest.

To recap, the Xolo One was launched in October last year for Rs 6,599. As for specifications, it sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor paired with 1GB RAM.

The smartphone also includes 8GB internal storage, microSD support, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, VGA front-facing camera, and a 1,700mAh battery.

What about Android One?

While the Xolo One smartphone has received the Lollipop update, Android One smartphone users still await the update. The entire point of Android One smartphones was the stock Android experience, as well as Google’s promise to deliver the latest Android update before other devices. However, the promises have not been kept.
