Xolo is all set to launch its 4G LTE smartphone in partnership with Airtel for its 4G LTE service in India soon, Xolo’s business head, Sunil Raina told BGR India. The phone will, most probably, be launched on the same day when Airtel announces its voice calling over 4G LTE service on smartphones, which is likely to happen sometime in the coming week.
With the launch of this phone, codenamed as LT900, Xolo will become the first Indian smartphone player to come out with a 4G LTE enabled smartphone in India, leaving behind Mircomax which too has reportedly been working on 4G LTE compatible devices.
In order to catch up with its competitors in the mobile device space, Xolo too is working on a 6-inch phablet and plans to launch it within the first quarter of the year 2014. “The company is indeed working on a 6-inch phablet and will launch it soon in the market,” Raina told BGR India. The phablet will be based on Android OS and is likely to get stylus support as well.
On the sidelines of the Xolo Play Tegra Note launch, the company had mentioned to be coming up with their own customized UI in January 2014. Adding to which Raina said that the company will introduce this UI on one particular phone first, and might as well bring it down to their earlier launched smartphones later. Though, Raina did not confirm if the phablet’s software too will be topped with the company’s customized skin.
On Windows Phone compatibility, Raina added that though the company is mainly focused on Android Platform, but they also plan to launch Windows Phone smartphone in the year to come.
