Yahoo has updated its Mail app for iPhone and iPod touch which introduces a revamped user interface along with several new features. The big change is the new multi- paneled interface with dedicated tabs for Mail, News and Yahoo Today, placed at the bottom of the screen.
On launching the app, you will be directed to your inbox which does not bring any noticeable change other than the panel of the above mentioned buttons. While the Mail icon is obviously meant for checking and replying to emails, the News icon will take the user to another page which features news stories on various topics streamlined on the same page. You can personalize the news item by choosing the topics and do endless browsing, like you do on the Yahoo for desktop.
The third tab, Today, gives a snapshot of the information on local weather forecast, news digest, latest stock quotes and sports scores among other topics. It looks more or less like Google Now which too streamlines information about things and topics you would like to be informed about or search on everyday basis.
Apart from these, the app also gets performance improvements and bug fixes. With this new update the company wants to offer a similar Yahoo Mail experience across its platforms, for which it has added features like one-tap access to personalized, real-time information for its users. You can head over to the App Store to download the latest version of Yahoo Mail.
