YouTube has just rolled out its premium version, YouTube Premium and YouTube Music in select markets across the globe. Both these services are aimed at different segments of the YouTube audience with YouTube Music focusing on the music lovers present on the platform. This service is something like an all in one music streaming service along with a new desktop interface along with a reimagined mobile app . Here users can get access to everything from Album version of the music to its live performances, remixes, and covers. The entire experience is built around music and the ease to discover new music. The company also added that YouTube Music has free as well as premium memberships. The Premium version of YouTube Music allows users to download the music or even play the audio of the video playing in the background. Google has priced the YouTube Music Premium subscription at $ 9.99 per month. Moving to the second product, YouTube Premium is priced at $11.99 per month and it allows users to access the entire website without any advertisements while giving similar benefits that are present in Google Music Premium subscription. In addition to all these features, YouTube Premium also gives users access to YouTube Originals, original content produced by YouTube that is similar to what Netflix has done with its Netflix Originals. Some of the latest YouTube Originals include Cobra Kai, Impulse, F2 Finding Football, and others. Both these services will now be available in 17 countries across the globe.
These countries include United States, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Russia, Austria, Finland, Italy, Mexico, Norway, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Sweden, Spain, and South Korea. This clearly indicates that both these services are not available in the Indian market right now. The company has not issued any information on when we can expect the services to launch in India.
