If you’d been trying to access YouTube recently but couldn’t, don’t worry, you were not alone. The world’s largest video sharing service briefly went down for many users around the world. Even though the company didn’t detail the scale of the outage, it said that efforts were on to restore services, and it’ll intimate once the issue was resolved.

As the tweet by YouTube team indicates, it appears users weren’t just experiencing issues with accessing YouTube’s primary video platform, but also YouTube TV and YouTube Music.

A little over an hour later, the issue has been resolved. In a follow up tweet, YouTube team announced that all systems are back up and running. Those who’d been anxiously waiting to get their daily fill of dog/cat videos,  movie trailers (and a whole bunch of other stuff), you all can breathe easy now!

YouTube is used by billions of users around the globe on a daily basis and is backed by Google’s robust digital infrastructure. However, at the end of the day, it’s a digital service, and issues can crop at any time.

In related news, last month, Google announced that it’s merging the gaming-centric features of YouTube Gaming to YouTube’s primary website. Users can now head over to https://www.youtube.com/gaming, where they’ll see a personalized feed of content on the top of the page, curated from sources like subscribed channels, new uploads & live-streams, as well as trending videos.

In addition, the new gaming section on YouTube’s website will feature dedicated pages for games, populated with content such as popular videos, streams, and even other games created by the same developer. These pages can be subscribed to individually.
