YU Televentures, subsidiary to Micromax, has launched its first ever television in India. The Yu-branded Yuphoria Smart LED TV comes in 40-inch screen size and full-HD (1080p) display panel. It is priced at Rs 18,499 and will be made exclusively on Amazon India starting October 10. There will be open sale for Yuphoria Smart LED TV, so it can be purchased at any time.
Commenting on the launch, Rajesh Agarwal, Co-Founder, Micromax said, “With the launch of the YU Smart TV, we are extremely excited to enter the consumer electronics space under YU for the first time. This entry is a testament of our larger strategy of becoming a full-fledged consumer electronics brand.”
Recently, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) listing was spotted with another YU branded TV with 32-inch display size. The codename model number was listed as 32YUPHORIA S.
Now since YU has forayed into TV market as well, we assume that the 32-inch smart TV could be the one launching next. Micromax’s YU recently launched YU Ace smartphone after almost a year of silence in India. During the launch, the company said it plans to launch quite a few products before festive season, although it didn’t share any details regarding the launch.
Up until now, the company was focused on releasing smartphones for the YU brand, but after the YU Yureka 2, the Ace was the only smartphone that got launched in one year’s time. YU Ace is company’s latest entry-level smartphone that has been priced at Rs 5,999 for base variant with 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage. The higher-end variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage has already been announced, but the pricing is still awaited.
