Micromax-backed YU launched the Yuphoria smartphone back in May 2015 for Rs 6,999. The smartphone was shipped with Cyanogen 12 OS based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, but with today s Rs 500 price cut, the smartphone will now come loaded with stock Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Yuphoria specification and features: The Yu Yuphoria flaunts a 5-inch TFT IPS display with 1280 720 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, paired with 2GB RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. Also on the offer is 16GB of onboard storage and a microSD card slot expandable up to 32GB.

On the camera front, the Yu Yuphoria sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and 1080p HD video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper with f/2.0 aperture and an 86-degree wide-angle lens.

It runs on stock Android Lollipop 5.0 OS out-of-the-box. It packs a 2,230mAh battery with quick charging technology that the company claims to charge the Yuphoria from 0-65 percent in just 45 minutes. Connectivity wise, it includes dual-SIM, LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is available in buffed steel and champagne gold variants.

The Yureka Plus too got a price cut recently with a version that runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Also, the recently launched ultra-affordable 4G LTE capable Yunique too comes with stock Android 5.1.1 OS out-of-the-box. Does YU releasing pure Android variants of its smartphones point to a possible end of partnership with Cyanogen? Or maybe, YU wants to provide its customers with an option to choose between Cyanogen and Stock Android?
