Last month, a YU-branded smartphone with model number YU6000 was spotted on India’s import-export site Zauba. Seems like the Micromax-backed company is close to launching the device in India, and it will be known as Yureka Note. While YU has yet to officially announce the smartphone, a couple of alleged photos from retail stores have leaked. These photos show the retail box as well as specifications and features of the upcoming smartphone. The front of the box simply mentions the name Yureka Note, while the back has a detailed list of specifications and price tag. YU Yureka Note specifications, features: As per the specs mentioned on the retail box, the Yureka Note flaunts a 6-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by a 64-bit octa-core processor (presumably MediaTek MT6753) paired with 3GB of RAM. It also includes 16GB internal storage, which can be further expanded using a microSD card.
The upcoming phablet also features a 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera, 4,000mAh battery with quick charging support, a fingerprint scanner and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots and 4G LTE support.
YU Yureka Note price: The price tag mentioned on the retail box reads Rs 14,999. If true, the phablet will be pitted against the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le 1s, and the Lenovo K4 Note. All three phablets come with features that are nearly on par with the Yureka Note, yet priced lower.
The phablet is about to launch at a time when there is a bit of confusion around the future of the YU brand. Micromax recently rebranded itself with a new logo and a new tagline, and also revealed plans to become an Internet company. The company had launched YU as an Internet-only company aimed at the youth.
