Yu today made its debut in India and launched its first device called the Yureka. The phone runs on Cyanogen 11 software based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Yu, also revealed that the Yureka will be the first handset to get the L-version of Cyanogen. This is yet another blow to OnePlus and other partners of Cyanogen, as the software maker seems to be favoring the Indian smartphone manufacturer. Furthermore, Sharma has also promised that the Yu will get OTA updates every month.
To recap in the specifications, Yureka sports a 5.5-inch display with 720p (HD) screen resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 processor which comes coupled with 2GB of RAM. On the storage front, the phone has 16GB memory which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
