Yu is all set to enter the wearable market today with its latest launched wearable YuFit. The Micromax subsidiary will be putting up the YuFit for sale for the first time on Amazon India at 12PM today. The company will follow the flash sale model for this sale as well. As for the norms of flash sale, only registered customers can take part in the sale. The registrations for today’s sale now stands closed. Registering for the flash sale is mandatory to participate in the sale. The company has not yet revealed the total number of units it will put on sale today but has alerted that the number of stocks will be limited. As an introductory offer, Yu has announced that the first 1,000 customers will get free access to a coach via Healthifyme, a startup Yu had invested in. Healthifyme subscriptions for coaches start at Rs 1,800 for two months and go up to Rs 10,000 for a year. The YuFit will primarily compete with Xiaomi’s Mi Band and Goqii. The Mi Band is also priced at Rs 999. However, the YuFit would have an edge over it since it has an OLED display and also has the concept of coaches that will help users get fitter. The closest competitor for the YuFit would be Goqii, which is also an Indian startup and has a similar fitness band and also has the concept of coaches. However, Goqii is priced higher. YuFit also claims it has tracked the calorie counts of Indian food, which helps it estimate calorie intake more precisely.
