ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., a global media and entertainment powerhouse, has announced its newest technology platform that combines five major forms of visual and audio experience. The new technology platform has been designed to offer an immersive experience to the viewers and the company says it looked at Vedic culture to build the platform that satisfies all the 5 senses. The new platform from ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. is built on technologies like 3D Audio, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Digital Scent, Holograms and touch. The broadcast-oriented media company has developed this new technology as it aims to transform the user experience of viewers at home. ZEE’s lab in the Silicon Valley was set up in 2016 to create this robust platform, and I’m very glad that the US Patent is secured. The new technology platform from the media and entertainment company is centered around these five pillars:
Immersive Entertainment: For its new platform, ZEE is using technologies such as 3D Audio, AR, VR, Digital Scent, holograms and touch, to transform the viewers’ living rooms into an immersive viewing experience.
Immersive Education: The platform is also designed to educate the viewers but ZEE is going a step further with immersive education where that will allow viewers to look right into the cylinders of the internal combustion engine. The end goal for the company is take the learning experience to a different level.
Gaming: Gaming has become integral part of home entertainment and ZEE is not trying to leave that stone untouched. The company says that its platform will not just offer a 3D gaming experience but also give the players a unique experience to feel the game and “even experience the smell of the battle field.”
Entertainment Commerce: The platform is also designed to allow consumers to order any product they witness being consumed or used by the lead protagonist on the screen with the touch of a button. “Viewers will be able to smell the perfume worn by their favorite actor / actress on screen and purchase the same within seconds. If the viewer owns a 3D printer, the platform is also capable of even printing the food which one watches on the screen!”
Home Environment Control: The platform also combines smart home controls allowing users to control their home environment, right from the lights, security solutions to heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment.

The new five senses platform is not yet deployed on a commercial scale but the grant of the patent allows ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd to immediately bring it to millions of users across the world. The company says commercially viable prototype will be ready in the next 12 months and will target mainstream global viewers across US, Europe, Asia, China and Latin America.
