New Delhi-based Ziox Mobile has just announced that it is launching its latest mobile phone, the Viber feature phone in the Indian market. The company has priced the mobile device for Rs 950 in an industry that is currently ruled by Reliance Jio’s JioPhone. The highlight of the Viber feature phone is that it comes with “auto-call recording” so that users can keep a track of all their calls and not lose any “important phone conversations!” The device will come with a 1.8-inch display and also supports multiple languages. This is likely to make the device popular with the non-English users by allowing them to “comfortably communicate” in the language they are comfortable with.
Viber feature phone is powered by a 1,000mAh battery which, according to the claims by the company, allows users to “watch movies”, or make phone calls or send text messages “without interruption.” For comparison, the JioPhone 2 comes with a 2,000mAh battery. The feature phone maker has also added FM, Bluetooth, and Internet as connectivity options in the device to ensure that users can use the device for anything more than cellular calls and SMS messages.

The announcement also claims that the feature phone comes “with an extensive storage capacity” that allows it to store up to 500 contacts and 200 SMS messages. The device is ideal to be used as a backup device for a user but it is likely that it may not cut it for most users.
With the launch of Reliance Jio that made the internet revolution more accessible for most users, mobile phone users have come to expect a minimum threshold of operations that a device can perform. This includes support for essential apps including WhatsApp, YouTube, and Facebook. Features that are not present on any other feature phone in the market. Looking at the specifications of the device, it is difficult for the device to compare with the Reliance JioPhone or the JioPhone 2.
