ZTE has launched its latest flagship smartphone, called the AXON 7. The new smartphone is said to be successor of the ZTE AXON, which had launched last year. Some of the main highlights of the smartphone include an aluminium metal body, QHD display and a whopping 6GB of RAM. The smartphone is up for pre-orders in the China, and will be available for purchase starting June 2. The AXON 7 comes in three variants: Basic, Standard and Premium. The smartphone will be available in two colors: ion gold and quartz gray.
Designed by BMW’s DesignWorks firm, the ZTE AXON 7 features a metal unibody with rounded corners and edges. The smartphone is equipped with two audio chips AK4961 and AK4490 from AKM, Dolby Atmos for better sound volume and quality.
Price: As we mentioned before that the smartphone comes in three variants. In terms of the pricing, the Basic variant which comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, is priced at 2,899 Yuan (Rs 29,630 approx). The second variant is Standard, which comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB on board storage, is available for 3,299 Yuan (Rs 33,690 approx). The last variant is the Premium which, as the name suggests, has a massive 6GB RAM with 128GB storage option and is priced at 4099 Yaun (Rs 41,850 approx).
ZTE AXON 7 specifications and features: The smartphone features a 5.5-inch display with AMOLED WQHD (2560×1440) display resolution and 2.5D glass and Gorilla Glass 4. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC along with an Adreno 530 GPU. The AXON 7 comes in three options- 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of storage, 4GB of RAM with 128GB storage and 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of on-board storage.
On the camera front, the ZTE Axon 7 sports a 20-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, OIS, PDAF and a dual-LED flash. Up front the smartphone has an 8-megapixel selfie camera with front flash.
The ZTE AXON 7 features a 3,250mAh battery with Quick-charge 3.0. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G LTE, VoLTE and USB Type-C support. On the software front the Axon 7 runs MiFavor4.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. ZTE says it will be upgraded to Android N when the new update is made available.
Alongside the ZTE AXON 7, the company also unveiled a new VR device, ZTE VR. The VR device is among the first devices to support Google’s latest launched Daydream platform. The ZTE VR has dimensions of 185.3×85.3×76.7mm and weighs 255 grams. The company also guarantees to give sensor functionality with the help of built-in 9-axis gyro sensor.
Coming back to the ZTE AXON 7, the smartphone will face a tough competition from the likes of Vivo XPlay 5, ZUK Z2 Pro and Meizu Pro 6. The three smartphones feature 6GB of RAM. It is worth pointing out that the smartphones like LeEco Le 2 and OnePlus 3 are also expected to feature 6GB of RAM, which might as well compete with the AXON 7.
