ZTE has launched a new smartphone in China called the Blade A2S. This smartphone is a successor to the Blade A2 that was launched last year in June. The Blade A2S carries the same price tag of CNY 699 (approximately Rs 6,900) as the Blade A2, but comes with upgraded specifications. The Blade A2S is currently listed on Chinese retailer website JD.com. Availability details for a global launch aren t revealed as yet. Other than upgrades underneath the smartphone, the design of the Blade A2S also has some slight changes as compared to its predecessor. The Blade A2s flaunts the same metal body, but with more prominent antenna lines on the top and bottom. The rear camera lens sits in the same position but the LED flash has been moved below. The rear fingerprint sensor is placed below the camera, while the ZTE logo has been moved to the centre. Up front, the display comes with very thin side bezels but thick ones on top and bottom, accompanied by the small circular home button.
In terms of specifications, the ZTE Blade A2S features a 5.2-inch Full HD (1080p) display. Under the hood, runs a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali-T860 GPU. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage which is further expandable via a microSD card. In the photography department, the Blade A2S sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with HDR, and PDAF. Up front, it houses a 5-megapixel camera of f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling. The connectivity options available on the Blade A2S include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB 2.0 for charging and data transfer. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a non-removable 2,540mAh battery. On the software front, the Blade A2S runs an unspecified Android OS. In comparison, the older Blade A2 comes with a 5-inch HD display, a MediaTek MT6750 SoC, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. For photography front, the Blade A2 packs a 13-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front camera. The Blade A2 is powered by a 2,500mAh battery, and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop-based MiFavor 3.2.
