ZTE has unveiled a new smartphone, called the Blade V7 Plus. As the name suggests, the smartphone is essentially an updated version of the Blade V7, which was launched last year. The ZTE Blade V7 Plus will be available in platinum grey and ion gold color options and is already up for sale in countries like Russia and Australia.
Talking about the design, nothing has changed except the smartphone now features a fingerprint scanner at the back. The scanner is placed right below the camera module. Apart from that, the smartphone comes with a metal body. Up front, it comes with a 2.5D glass on top of the display, with the volume rocker and power button on the left and right-hand side respectively.
In terms of specifications, a Russian website reveals that the Blade V7 Plus retains the 5.2-inch full HD 1080p display. The disappointing aspect however is the dated MediaTek MT6753 chipset that powers the smartphone. It also comes with the same combination of 16GB internal storage and 2GB RAM that was seen on last year’s model.
The rest of the specifications and features include a 13-megapixel rear camera with single LED flash, an 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,540mAh battery. Further disappointment comes in the form of the OS as the smartphone runs on a dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box. In comparison, last year’s ZTE Blade V7 was launched with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, MediaTek octa-core SoC, 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF support, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. ZTE last launched the Blade Max 3 in its Blade series, which cme with a 6-inch 1080p display, 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0, and has fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear panel.
