Here are all the iPhone models that will get iOS 16 update: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and second-generation iPhone SE.

Customise the lock screen

With iOS 16, iPhone users create different lock screens each with a unique backdrop and style. Users can also set a photo gallery to be displayed on their iPhones’ lock screens. Users can also customise their lockscreen widgets.

Live Activities

iOS 16’s Live Activities feature will enable users to stay on top of all the developments happening live from their lock screens.

ICloud Shared Photo Library

With iOS 16, iPhone users will be able to share a separate iCloud photo library with up to five other people. Users can also choose to contribute past photos based on a start date or the people in the photos. Once the shared library is set up, users will be able to share photos instantly right from Camera.

Messages gets smarter

With iOS 16, iPhone users will be able to edit a message within a span of up to 15 minutes after sending it. iPhone users will also be able to unsend any message within up to two minutes after sending it.

With iOS 16, Apple is introducing a new sign-in method. Apple's passkeys use biometric data stored on users’ PCs or phones, such as Face ID or Touch ID -- along with cryptographic techniques to help users log onto a server. Users have to approve each use of passkeys on the supported websites with an authentication step such as Touch ID, Face ID or a PIN.

Smarter Dictations

With iOS 16, iPhone users also get access to smarter dictations. The updated dictations feature enables users to move seamlessly between voice and touch-based commands. Users can type with the keyboard, tap in the text field, move the cursor and insert QuickType suggestions, all without needing to stop Dictation. Users can also insert emoji using their voice while dictating.

Health app gets Medication

iOS 16 also brings a new Medications feature in the Health app that will help users in managing and tracking the medications that they take.
