LG is finally going to launch the Lifeband Touch health tracker and Heart Rate earphones in the US on May 18. The company had introduced these wearable device at CES in January. These are LG's first wearables targeting fitness conscious users. It is also planning to introduce its smartwatch soon, called the LG G Watch.
Samsung has entered the premium mobile audio segment, with the announcement of Level, a new range of speakers and earphones. The range of audio accessories will reach markets in mid-May and includes Level On, Level In, and Level Over earphones, and a bluetooth speaker called Level Box.
LG's CES presser might still be more than 12 hours away but that hasn't stopped the Korean electronics giant from revealing what it has in store this year. As always, LG will have a battalion of television sets ranging from the biggest 3D TV to webOS TV to 21:9 4K models. What will grab eyeballs, however, would be its webOS running TV sets. LG has also revealed it will showcase the Life Touch Band and Heart Rate Earphones at the show.
Apart from new iPods and the iPhone 5, Apple has released the EarPod earphone for its mobile devices, which replaces the iconic white Apple earphones. The EarPod features a new acoustically-tuned design on which Apple claims to provide significantly better sound quality more akin to higher-end earphones.
The single component that binds all Apple mobile products is the iconic white earphone. It is an aging war-horse, it may have won some audio battle back in the day, but by modern standards it is probably the first thing audiophiles maniacally change. Luckily though Vietnamese site Tinhte has obtained a pair of earphone which it claims to be the new Apple earphones for the next iPhone. It also goes as far to say that these earphones were designed in California and manufactured in Vietnam.
