Launched today, the Oppo F7 added to the expanding portfolio of selfie-centric smartphones in India. Other than the notch-based design as its highlight, the F7 brings AI-based features to its front as well as rear camera. Given its price and features, the Oppo F7 counters similarly-priced Vivo V9, which launched last week and features not only the notch design, but also dual cameras. We compare the Oppo F7 and the Vivo V9 on various parameters, and here’s how they fare against each other in a quick video.
Oppo F7 is priced at Rs 21,990 for the base model with 64GB internal storage, and Rs 26,990 for the 128GB model. The base model is available in color choices of Solar Red, Moonlight Silver and Diamond Black, while the 128GB model is available only in Solar Red and Diamond Black. Vivo V9, on the other hand, is priced slightly higher at Rs 22,990. There are no variants of the smartphone.
In terms of availability, the Oppo F7 will go for its first flash sale on April 2 exclusively via Flipkart and offline channels. The Vivo V9 has been on pre-orders since the day of its launch on March 23, and will start shipping from April 2. It will be available via online and offline channels.
Display is one of the highlights of both the smartphones. The Oppo F7 features a 6.23-inch full HD+ LTPS IPS TFT display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The Vivo V9 packs a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with 19:9 aspect ratio.
Now, both the smartphones feature a notch at the top. While the shape of the notch is similar on both the smartphones, the bottom bezel is slightly thinner on the Vivo V9 in comparison. The top notch packs the front camera.
The Oppo F7 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core SoC with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD card up to 256GB. It is fueled by a 3,400mAh battery.
In comparison, the Vivo V9 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. You can use the microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB. It is fueled by a 3,260mAh battery.
Both brands are known for their selfie-centric smartphones, and their latest products are no exception. The Oppo F7 packs a 25-megapixel front camera. It is said to be the first such smartphone to pack a Sony IMX 576 sensor, and AI Beauty Technology 2.0. With advanced software and sensor, the front camera is capable of delivering much more enhanced selfies than its predecessor.
