Putting all rumors to rest, Samsung has finally unveiled the Galaxy S9 and S9+ at its ‘Unpacked’ event in Barcelona ahead of MWC 2018. The successors to the Galaxy S8, the new smartphones brings refined design, under the hood upgrades, and some new features. One may call the Galaxy S9 an incremental upgrade over the Galaxy S8, but the refinements surely add value to the overall package.
The Galaxy S9 comes with a design that is similar to its predecessor. You get the same tall 5.8-inch Infinity Display with dual edge curved design, and a metal body sandwiched between front and back glass. The top and bottom bezels are slightly thinner now to give you an immersive full-screen viewing experience. The placement of the fingerprint sensor at the back is also now changed – it now sits below the camera module, so you are less likely to accidentally touch the camera lens. The new Galaxy S9 also comes with stereo speakers tuned by AKG and support Dolby ATMOS with 360-degree stereo sound. One speaker is at the bottom and the earpiece acts like a secondary speaker when listening to music, watching or playing games.
