At a grand event at its new Apple Campus in California, the company launched the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, which are essentially improvements from last year’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Since they improve on their predecessors, the highlight of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus – the camera – has also received an upgrade on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. While the iPhone 8 features a single camera module at the rear, the iPhone 8 Plus comes with a dual-camera setup.

As expected, Apple has brought back the glass design with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. And Apple claims that the iPhone 8 duo feature the most durable glass ever on a smartphone. Under the hood, the two are powered by 64-bit A11 bionic chipset, that has six-cores. Out of which, two are high-performance cores, four are high-efficiency cores. The chipset includes a core machine learning system for a better user experience. Apple says that new iPhones have improved stereo speakers that are 25 percent louder than iPhone 7, and feature a deeper bass. The smartphones also feature new Apple-designed GPU, which are 30 percent faster than A10.

The Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available in Silver, Space Gray, and new gold color. Further, the iPhones have finally been sealed for water and dust resistance. Apple iPhone 8 features a 12-megapixel camera at the rear, with deeper pixel. The iPhone 8 Plus has dual-camera setup, which consists a pair of 12-megapixel sensor, one of which has f/1.8 aperture, white the other comes with f/2.8 aperture. Also features OIS. The smartphones’ camera is accompanied by a quad-lad True Tone flash.

Also, the slo-mo is better with the iPhone 8 Plus, with 2 lakh frames. It features 1080p 240 fps slow-mo, and supports videos at 4K 60 fps. But the highlight is the compatibility of the smartphone’s camera with augmented reality (AR). Which means you can use the ARKit with the iPhone 8 duo. Like its predecessor, the iPhone 8 Plus also features portrait mode.

Also, one of the most anticipated features – wireless. The iPhone 8 duo, owing to the glass design, come with wireless charging, that is powered by Qi open wireless standard. The iPhones will have wireless chargers from Mophie and Belkin. For connectivity, the two smartphones also come with Bluetooth 5.0.
