CES 2018 is underway, and here are the key announcements from the biggest tech show on earth. Some of the big announcements include new laptops and a massive 146-inch TV from Samsung, an 8K OLED TV from LG, a new color for the LG V30, an interesting battery-free wearable from L’Oreal, and more!
From Belkin’s series of power banks and wireless charging accessories to Sony’s three new smartphones (Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, Xperia L2) being unveiled at the event, the day was quite eventful. We say digital assistants making a special place for themselves with Alexa being announced to be integrated to some of the future Windows 10 PCs, and Amazon announcing extending support to more home appliance like microwaves and over. We saw a bunch of laptops being showcased at the event, which somewhat put the debate on the future of the laptops to a rest. Another category that saw some interesting product launches was TVs. Samsung launched a giant 146-inch TV called the ‘The Wall‘, while LG unveiled a 66-inch TV that can be rolled up like a high-tech paper.
The second day of the event saw Vivo showcasing their first ever in-display fingerprint scanning smartphone. Nikon too announced a massive telephoto lens. A big announcement came from Google too, with the company introducing a new Smart Display platform. VR headsets had a special place for themselves, with Facebook’s Oculus and Xiaomi announcing to launch VR headsets in China.
